CAREER CENTER
SAVA Now Enrolling @ La Familia!
Labor Day
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
We will be CLOSED
Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day!
Mexican Independence Day
This holiday celebrates Mexico’s declaration of independence from Spain in 1810, and it’s filled with national pride, colorful parades, mariachi concerts, and food. People of Mexican heritage all over the world commemorate this important event in their country’s history, when a brave priest in the village of Delores rang his church bell and delivered a powerful speech that set the War of Independence from Spain in motion.
We will be CLOSED Wednesday, September 16th  in observance of Mexico’s Independence Day!

September is National Preparedness Month, sponsored by FEMA, and it is a good reminder that natural and man-made disasters can strike at any time. It’s important to have a planned response when you’re at home, work, on vacation or on the road.

Emergency preparedness allows you to take matters into your own hands, and possibly prevent the most unimaginable of losses. You can take responsibility for your own safety and well-being to ensure the best possible outcome – for you and your family. Being well informed and well prepared will decrease worry and may give you a sense of confidence to address things to come.
Suicide Prevention Month
September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month—a time to share resources and stories in an effort to shed light on this highly taboo and stigmatized topic. We use this month to reach out to those affected by suicide, raise awareness and connect individuals with treatment services. It is also important to ensure that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention.
Hispanic Heritage Month
Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. The observance was born in 1968 when Congress authorized the president to issue an annual proclamation designating National Hispanic Heritage Week. Just two decades later, lawmakers expanded it to a month long celebration.
