In partnership with Sacramento County Department of Health, La Familia Counseling Center is one of 13 sites that provides free COVID-19 test to the community.
FREE testing for anyone over 2 years old, regardless of insurance or immigration status.
Test is a self administered nasal swab.
Is this test right for you?
What if I have severe symptoms?
NOT for people with severe symptoms; you should contact your healthcare providers for testing if you have severe symptoms.
What if I recently tested positive?
NOT for people who have tested positive within the last 10 days (you need to finish your isolation period first).
Am I able to travel after I take the test?
NOT for travel clearance: Those requiring testing for travel should contact their healthcare providers or a private laboratory (StemExpress).

Please note, as of January 18, 2021, testing is now a self-swabbing process guided by trained staff.
Preparing for your visit.
What do I bring with me?
Bring a form of ID that includes your name and date of birth on it (e.g. driver license, consular ID, passport).

I'm experiencing severe symptoms
If you are experiencing severe symptoms on the day of your appointment, PLEASE DO NOT COME. Contact your healthcare provider instead.
I've been exposed
If you have been exposed, please wait 5 days minimum before testing since it is not likely that the virus will be detected by a test before that amount of time.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the expected turn around time to receive results?
Turnaround time is between 24-72 hours.
(Turnaround time is the usual number of hours from the time a specimen is received at the laboratory to when the result is released).
How will I know when my results are ready?
You will receive a text and email at the phone number and email you provided. You can also visit color.com/covid-test to check if your results are ready. You’ll need to enter your date of birth and the test barcode found on your test kit card.
